Smokin' Word

SMOKIN' D'BATE is the orginal form of hip-hop spoken word performance developed by Claudia Alick, Dyalekt, and Jesse Alick. Created in 2004 to promote political awareness and voter turn out before the Presidential election, Smokin' D'bate takes the form of Lincoln Douglas Debate adds a DJ and replaces the arguments with poetry and the rebuttles with freestyles.
