PRODUCTIONS

2002 Season
SMOKIN' WORD's 2003 season was exciting and prolific. We produced a cd, a short film, several theatrical and poetry events, and held our first open call. We began meeting weekly and this is where a lot of our power came from. Our hip-hop play "Sick Rhymes" in the hip-hop theatre festival got a great review and we also began working politcially, connecting with organizations like THAW. Our bigger production schedule required a biger budget so we produced several fundraisers. These big parties were a mix of music, poetry, hip-hop music, artwork and live performance. All performances were donated and we are grateful to belong to such a great community. We donated funds from our last fundraiser to BodyPositive as well!
