Smokin' Word

2003 Season

SMOKIN' WORD was founded in 2002 in order to produce 3 hip-hop plays. "SexyKillKill" in the Oasis Festival at Chashama June 5-6 2002 was a rousing success and June 21-22 "BreakDown" was featured in a night of shorts in the Hip-Hop Theatre Festival. June 25 was our Blast Off Nite!, a full evening of Smokin' Word material. Our agent showcase, Blast Off Nite!, featured the spoken word poetry of Dominique Morriseau, plus "Sick Rhymes", "BreakDown" and "SexyKillKill: Boxing Ennui". Following the event was the Hottest Poets "Poetic Vibes" poetry slam.
