Kyana Brindle is a writer, singer, and
native New Yorker. She has performed with hip-hop artist Tiye
Phoenix, most recently in 2002’s Black August event,
and her poetry and singing will be featured on Smokin’
Word’s upcoming CD compilation intitled "From Brooklyn
to Harlem: Upward Movement". She is also an active participant
in WordShop Smokin' Word's playwrite's workshop. Kyana received
her bachelor’s degree in Black Literature at Oberlin
College, and is the former Managing Director for Smokin’ Word.
In addition she is a reiki practitioner and believes in utilizing
spirituality and the arts as tools for healing and social
change. She is the author of the one person show "Between Spaces".
