• Bridges

From the founding of Smokin' Word Productions our exsistance has been dependant on relationships. This page is dediacted to all the companies we have worked with. Our first plays were produed in theatre fesitivals. Not only do we co-produce events and products wth other companies, but also participate by offering our services for free or discount. Sometimes we even have the pleasure of offering our own knowledge to companies with less experience. We are proud to be part of a greater artistic community. Each project we collaborate on creates a bridge between us.

Click on Associated Companies to find out more about the companys we have worked with, or read about specific bridge projects below.

Thanks for THAW New Perspectives Theatre

Monday February 10, 2003 7 p.m. 'till the wee hours. We raised funds for our next production. For only $5 and whatever else you wanted to give us, we provided the hosting talents of the fabulous Harlem 125; Rev. Lee as DJ; live romantic music performances by Anisa Fujah, The Onliest, and Jeremy James "neo-soul" singer, song writer, musician; an excerpt of "Six Hits" our next production; and, oh yes... loads of SEXY poetry. Hot erotic poetic competition from Yolanda Wilkinson, Ainsley Burrows, Vanessa Hidary, Felice Bell, D Cross, Mahogany Browne, Frenchie Davis, Matthue Roth, Micky Small, ButtaFlySoul, Jade Banks, PostMidnight, and other amazing spoken word artists. Doors opened at 7 and there was a happy hour with cheap drinks. Live music till 8:30 and then the slam. After the show there was an open mic. of poetry sexy and/or otherwise. Poetry, Dancing, and Romancing! What more could ya want?
